Default Stock rear dunlop MU85B16?????

Hi,

Does anyone know what the actual measured width of a stock rear dunlop MU85B16 is, not the size quoted but the actual size.

I am thinking about fitting the Avon Venom 150/80B16 which measures 150mm, and want to know if it will fit. Avon state as a straight swap their Avon Venom 140/90B16 which actually measures 143mm.
I dont have a set of calipers which will allow tyre measurement as they are too small.

Thanks
Paul

The MU85B16 mounted on a stock HD rim measures 5.710 inches which is wider than the Avon 140 series mounted on the rear of my Roadking. I have ordered an Avon 150 to replace the MU85B16. There is .250 inch clearance between the stock tire and the belt guard. I have removed the guard (three self tapping screws) and enlongated the holes to move the guard out .06. There are weldments on the bottom of the swing arm that will require you to trim a few places so that the guard will still fit flat against the swing arm when you reinstall it.

Installed the Avon Venom X 150/80HB (5.90) on the rear of a 2004 RK. The mounted tire measured 5.87 inches. A little close to the fender on the right side and I moved the belt guard out about .030 and don't have any clearance problems. Handles better than the Dunlops.

I put a 150 Avon on my 2006 RG. No issues.
