Does anyone know the actual measured width of metzler 210/50/17 mounted on a 2006 night train wheel?I want to change the stock dunlop to a metzler but i have the Heartland fender kit on my bike and clearance may be an issue.Any info would be appreciated.Thanks..

 

How wide is the night train wheel? It varies widely on the rim width. The metz 210 was designed to be mounted on a 5.5-6.5" rim. On a 5.5, it measures right at 210mm.

Tire: ME880 210/50ZR-17
Reference rim: 6.5" That's the width rim that all the measurments are taken from.
Rims Permitted 6.00" - 7.00".

Width of the 200mm Harley Rim: 6.00". The 6" rim will pinch the tire in a little and probably make it look a lot like the 200/55 oem tire.

As we speak there is a tire on a UPS truck from MN to CA heading for my house. It is the above Metz 210.

A local Indy will mount and spin balance a tire if you walk in with the tire in one hand and the wheel in the other for $20. http://www.roadridermca.com/

I've got almost 6K miles on the pos oem Dunlop and it's about gone, but there are perhaps 500 miles left.
So it may be a month before I put the Metz on, but I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the info.So what you are saying is with a 6.00 inch rim the 210 will be slightly narrower than 210 mounted on the 6.5 inch reference rim?Keep us posted on what you find out when your tire comes in& once again thanks...
