Default Lowering rear only on FLHR

Just wanted to post my 2 cents. Went thru a lot of searches about lowering the rear suspension on my 2002 RK by 1" without touching the front. Had some say it would cause instability, others said no problem.

Some even said SG was not only lowered in rear, but up front too. I looked up SG and RK specs same front end, rear lowered 1" on SG. Just what I had thought from looking at HD stealer.

So end result is I got some Progressive 12" 412's (heavy duty) off the forum here, took off the tired old touring shocks, gave them to bbissell for shipping cost, he even gave me a shirt from Tuscon HD (thanks again b!).

Bike rides nice as s^!* no front end wigglin'. Now I am 6'5" did not need the reach, did it cuz the shocks were cheap almost NIB, liked the lowered look with my streamlining the bike.

So if ya ever wondered about lowering the rear on an FLHR, go ahead!

Mine's an 02 RK -lowered with a White Bros Burley rear 1" lowering kit I bought on Ebay. I love the way it rides with the rear lowered- must be the subtle lowering of the CG. Put about 9K on it with the rear-lowering. Do it!
