Default raking front end

doing a front end change and taking any tips or warnings

Wanted at least a small rake for my 05 Sporty XLC and am trying a combo to give myself 8 degrees round about

have a 3 degree cup rake kit and a 5 degree triple tree rake kit. have 2 in over fork extensions and 1 inch lower kit for back of bike

The handling part is something of concern of course and have ran this combo thru the caluculaters and shows not too bad. I gonna start tear down within a week and kind of curious what I can expect or if I may want to drop the fork extensions or any advice

Take some pic's too

I have 5 degree cups on my 01 and I like them even at 120 mph. You'll get use to them after a few run's.

One of these days I'd like to add some 3 degree trees too.

Check the trail. The rake will increase the trail. Also lowering the back will increase the trail as well. If you get too much trail the front wheel will wobble and be very unstable. An analogy is the caster on a shopping cart, when you push a shopping cart too fast the wheels go crazy.

Anyway, geometry is important. Take a good read on this site for ideas....

I was asking about raking as well. Here's the thread with some good replies...
