Default Checking front brake fluid level

2005 XL 1200 Custom. Noticed that the front brake fluid resevoir level is barely visible. Never paid attention before so I don't know if this is normal or not. Checked owner's manual and it says to check fluid level but doesn't say where level should be?!? Stopping power seems normal. Should I add fluid to fill the inspection window? Fill half-way?

You should be able to see the fluid level in the sight glass. That's all you need.

If the master cyl. is on buckhorns or not level, you need to level out the master to check it. Also, make sure that before adding anything you check pad thickness. If you add fluid then replace pads, you will be overfull.

Thanks for info. I did rotate the the buckhorn handlebars towards the rider for a little better reach so the cylinder is no longer in the "stock" position.
