Default need help with fork I.D

Ok I have a front end i got off a mate, but am unsure of which model it's off. Will take pic's if required but stamped on them is Showa G592 -L & R under those stamps are -1 . is one full tin wear front so maybe heritage etc but wondering which era.

The issue seems to be as I collect all kinds of bits to make my old girl run. I have a front wheel off a softail standard mid 90s and brake caliper which is off newer twin cam which mounts nice with the forks but seems to bring the centre of the wheel over to the brake side "single disc" about 8mm.

Any ideas before I hit the Milling machine to shave the brake mount!!

thanks ahead of time.

I'm not so sure I'm conceptualizing the affair. But, do not, I repeat, DO NOT off set the wheels center. Off set the wheel via the spokes if ya wanna--dishing--but the moment your wheels don't center up you'll pay.

To center the wheels: Drop a chalk line the length of wheelbase and put the center most point on it. Both wheels must be in line. If there is a mold in the center of the tires that works if not you've gotta find it. You're tires have a 3 digit # on them; for instance, P205/70R15 indicates that 205 is the measurement from sidewall to sidewall; the measurement of center is 102.5...got it? If the rear wheel is a P225/70R16, you simply split the 225, equaling 112.5. Simply drop a line across the first 102.5 then line the rear to it, a square will let ya find the accurate 112.5 needed, by pushing it against the side wall until properly aligning front & back wheels.

From here ya align your discs & brakes w/ spacers, try to keep those spacer & brackets tight & close otherwise the pull will be detrimental. A good machinist can cut some spacers for ya from a lathe, 5 or 10 bucks--whatnot. Make sure to give the brakes the recommended play space indicated. At this time ya should be rock n roll.

You'll probably get all of the in between miscellaneous crap but holler back if ya don't.
