Default Handlebars adjustment 95 Electra Glide Standard

Okay I just got a Sweeet deal on a pristene 95 Electra Glide Standard......but the handlebars are way out of my comfort zone. How do I adjust the position ? Do I need to remove the Fairing? Also can these bars be changed?

Default RE: Handlebars adjustment 95 Electra Glide Standard

Okie,
Just saw this this morning. To adjust the handlebars, or replace them with the same size (dia) at the connector, you have to remove the fork lock/switch and then remove two screws that hold the 'inner fairing cover' with the switches for AUX, SPOT, etc.
If you have the 95/96 Service manual, you got the info under 'fork lock removal'. If not send an email or PM and I can try to guide you thru the lock removal. I have done this on my wifes 01 Electra Glide Classic to replace her lock with my lock number. We wanted one key for both. It was a little confusing at first, but it's a little slight of hand twist this first, hold this next and then turn the whole thing ordeal.
