The 'everyone' you have spoken to are not very widely read! We have several sponsors on HDF who can supply you with suitable good quality shocks. The subject is very popular and best place to take a look for readers' views is actually the Touring forum. It is worth taking a little time to read recent threads on the subject.

My recommendation is HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal. Howard there is a suspension guru and will advise you on the range of Ohlins/JRI shocks he sells. Well worth giving him a call.
