I discovered this imperfection(?) on my swing arm when mounting a swing arm bag earlier this summer. I bought this 08 used in winter of 012 and it sat almost all 013 due to a broken back.
It looks to be the way it came from the factory. It's almost as if it is a casting defect? I checked all known recalls for my VIN. I found no swing arm recalls.
So my question is anyone else have a swing arm like this? And if you do/did what coarse of corrective action did you take, if any? I'll probably have it welded this winter for my own piece of mind.

 

A good dealer might be able to work with you on getting Harley to replace it. I'd make nice with the local dealer and see what they can do.
