I have an older gentlemen who I ride with that wants to do a PC-V on his bike to get ride of the decel popping. He has a Harley tune on the stock ECM but they said that was the best that could be done and recommended SERT.

I recommended PC-V as that is what I run on my bike and my wife's. The question is, does he need to have HD put the stock tune back on his bike before the PC-V?

 

By what I understand no you don't need to get rid of it, the PCV will override it.

 

A Power Vision would override or overwrite it. A power commander will not.

 

When using the PC-V if he has a HD Stage 1 download he will be fine, however if it was tuned with the Race Tuner he would need to have the original ECM caibration restored. The dealer can do this for about $40.00. If you use Power Vision you would just flash the ECM directly and it would not have to be re-flashed by the dealer.
