It's kinda hard to see in the second photo, but there's no backing on it. It's natural skin on the bottom.

That's the way it comes from the manufacturer, and it works great. It really does make the bike more comfortable while touring.

just kidding...that **** was pretty funny!!

 

I have one of those. Used it on two Hoka Hey's and it was a life (and butt) saver. I have had it for over four years now and it still looks and performs like new.
