Stolen saddlebags
On a charity run yesterday I was talking with a buddy who said he's been hearing of people's hardbags getting stolen. Apparently they're just sliding a crowbar between the bags and the frame and popping 'em off. They don't care that if they destroy the bag - they're doing it to get at what's locked inside.
Anyone else heard of this happening, or experience it first hand?

That's why I never lock my bags. There's nothing in them of any value anyway, compared to the bags themselves.

Really? Lol!
Yes, it's happening. . . Depending on where you are, it's happening a LOT! However, Brukus. . .
I don't know. . . My comp deductible is only $100. One of my saddlebag usually has more than much in clothing, tools, and whatnot in it.

Mine are hard bolted to the rear struts and unlocked - anyone that wants my smelly rain gear is welcome to it as it's not that expensive to replace, just unclip the QD's

Guess I need to clarify the original post. I knew the pre-2014s were easy to steal. I *thought* I had read somewhere that the newer ones were mounted differently. Guess I missed something somewhere!
