Default HD Daymaker LED headlight - reliable?

Thinking of the 7 inch version for my Slim.

It is reliable? No failure? Brighter than stock in both regular and hi beam settings?

Easily seen in day time on a sunny day?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

There's 2 versions or there was last year. A 5 bulb and a 7 bulb. And, last year, they cost the same. I have the 5 bulb. The 7 is supposed to eliminate any "dead" spots.

As for me, I'd buy it again but I'd get the 7 bulb. As for bright, it's great.

I might add, this information is for my bike, which uses a 5" bulb.

I've had HD LED bulbs (Daymaker, passing lamps and turn signals) since I bought the bike in late 2011.

All are much brighter than any incandescent bulb. They are very well seen in the daylight as well. Others have commented that the Daymaker LED cannot be seen from the side and peripheral lighting is not good (hence red deuce's post).

I have not had any issues with any of my HD LED bulbs to date so, as far as I'm concerned, they are very reliable.

Underneath the "Reply to Thread" box where you type your text, there are "Post Icons". You must have inadvertently hit the 'thumb down' radio button.

Thanks guys. Everybody else having good reliability with these things?

No bulb failures or electrical issues since you've owned them?

Sorry to be a pest, it's just it's a 400 buck unit, even if you find a deal on it. So I want to make sure it holds up well.

I've had mine for 13 months and the only issue I've had is adjusting it. I don't ride much at night, so when I first messed with it, I was trying to get the best out if it. But all of that is my fault, not the lights.

Ok guys. I ordered it. $414 from Kutter ain't cheap, but it's the best price I could find and I'm hoping the thing will do me right and last forever.

Thanks again for all the input.

How does it compare to truck lite? The latter is half the cost.
