Default steering ????

When I am riding down the road and let go of the handlebars I have to lean my body to the right to keep the bike running straight. If I don't the bike will lead off to the left. What should I be checking to correct this.
Thanks Clap

This is common in many HD models especially those with true dual exhaust. Some have made adjustment to their rear wheel alignment. My 2012 Heritage does the same to the point where I cannot lean right enough to correct it. I consider it normal and are not pursuing any corrections.

Some links here may provide some insight.

Check the tightness of the rear axle nut. Not joking, check it to see if it's torqued to where it's supposed to be.

Putting your hands back on the bars, perhaps?

It is wheel alignment back when Harley went to aluminum primaries they moved the wheels .080 toward the Primary side to balance the bike.

And use a torque wrench to measure, you can over tighten - this isn't a "tight as I can get it" nut. You probably know that, but on this forum...?

Check your clutch cable routing,if it is pulled too tight it can cause the problem you describe.

Mine pulls to the left also. Told dealer about it at 1000 service. He said they checked the rear wheel align and front fall away. All was well. Told me not to worry about and keep hands on the bars.

I've had to let go of my bars a few times but now that you mention it, it seems mine did that too. I never thought about it until now. I just figured it was the wind.

Never even thought of this, but makes sense. But..wouldn't a tight clutch cable make you go right?
