Default Does the '14 Road King have the new brakes without ABS?

I was looking at a 2014 Road King and the Salesman was telling me it had the linked brakes with ABS. I told him I didn't think it had ABS because it had no wire zip tied to the left front brake hose for a prox. And I did not see the ABS icon blinking when I turned on the switch.

The salesman probably doesn't know the difference between the linked braking system and ABS.

My question did all '14 Touring bikes get the linked brakes or do they only come with the ABS? ABS is an apparently rare option on Road Kings.

Linked brakes are part of the ABS option.

Not all touring bikes got the ABS brakes as standard equipment.

There is no "linked" brakes without having ABS also

Right. And I wouldn't say ABS on a '14 Road King is a rare option. Nearly all of the Kings I've seen at my two local dealers have had ABS.

It must depend on the dealer and market. I had one tell me they usually did not order RK's with ABS because of the price point. Another place told me they did not even order any RK's. Not sure if he meant none this year or none any time soon. Most dealerships I have been to don't have any on the floor. I had one salesman try to steer me to a Street Glide. Most places have SG 's stacked handlebar to handlebar.

The two places near here have tons of Street Glides, but only one or maybe two Road Kings. But the Road Kings I have seen all had the ABS with the Relfex system.

My 14 Road King does not have ABS. I wanted it but they did not have one with it in stock. I was persuaded to forget about ABS by being offered $2K off MSRP on it. I fell for it.

You cannot have linked brakes without ABS. And my bike does not have ABS.
