10,000 mile service question
Hi guys..
I currently have about 9300 miles on my Road King. I live in New England and usually put the bike to bed for the winter around Thanksgiving. I’m out of the country for work right now and won’t be home until November. I only anticipate a few good riding days when I get home but don’t think I’ll be putting on over 500 miles before the end of November (work has me out of state a lot and away from the bike!).
I always do an oil change and Stabil a full tank before I put the bike away. Should I just do the 10,000 mile service before the winter or wait until Spring? Figured an oil change on it’s own would be a waste if I’m just going to have the service done in the spring. Should I just let it sit in the garage as is and deal with it all in April? Does the bike need to be ridden for a while after all the fluids are changed? What would be the pros/cons of each? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Why not contact who ever you have the work done and see if the won't do the 10K early and have it ready for when spring breaks for you.

The dealership I used to go to has done my service over and under the amount of miles required. It's not etched in stone.
And call them.
And call them.

WTF?!! Guess the Moco has it all wrong wanting you to service at 10K miles.
OP: Do it yourself, it ain't rocket surgery. There's a check list in the shop manual.
