Took a 750 Street for a spin yesterday
Local dealer had a demo event yesterday and I took a 750 Street out for a ride. It felt pretty good actually. Engine has enough power, suspension actually works. All though it didn't effect shifting at all the shift lever has a lot of play in it, not sure if a properly broken in and maintained bike would be different. As I was riding it I got to thinking that with a lower handlebar it would make a nice little scoot.
Got back on my 1200 Low for the ride home and instantly realized just how awesome my Sportster is. I was considering a second smaller bike set up more like a cafe racer to compliment my Low and the 750 Street was high on my list. After riding one I think a used 883 is more likely the route I'll take.
I'd like to spend more time on one but honestly I think it would be a down grade from a 883.

high traffic, prolonged stop lights, ect ect the 750 would be nice with the liquid cooling. No worries about overheating. Other than that I'd rather have a sportster any day of the week. Could be a upgrade for some, a downgrade for others. good to have new ice cream flavors to choose from though.

I hope the street catches on with people who want a small and inexpensive city bike but I don't see myself ever going that route unless in a couple years used ones are REALLY cheap.

Went to a demo day myself yesterday and agreed that the 750 is a fun little bike. The dealer even had a V&H 2 into 1 installed and sounded pretty bad ***. Plenty-o-torque and kept up with the big boys getting onto the freeway. Handles great. That said it's a small bike great for those it fits but don't think I could take a 2 hour ride on one.

I also took one out on a demo day event a couple weeks ago. I was impressed with the motor, but little else. It had plenty of get up and go, I was doing 80 in no time. I would have gone faster, but the speed limit on that road was only 60. The brakes were poor, even on a light bike. The finish was poor and why use those metric style turn signals?
