Default Wife's First Night Ride + Deer

First time my wife rode her bike at night. This is her first year with her own bike. Anyway, we were about 3 miles from home and out comes 2 deer. She handled it real well and missed both. The whole episode didn't bother her much at all. I guess she's a seasoned rider now. It's that time of year (Deer Rut) that we all need to be aware of them furry critters.

Glad she cleared them. Rut is worse, but in my area....it is a 365-24-7 problem.

So is it here. Damned antler rats! Dumber than a sack of hammers.

Every close encounter at night, reminds me to avoid night riding. Especially this time of year. Fall and June highest deer activity.

Hit a deer last spring with our Rav4. Totaled the whole front end and windshield. Saw the first dear slammed on the brakes. Got down to 25mph and hit the second deer that was walking behind the first one. Was on a two lane road, on coming traffic, had no where to go but hit the deer. And it was still light out.

I don't ride the bike on these back roads anymore after 5pm.
