Correct. Thus, she was "not texting".

 

So.....probation puts her right out on the street texting again the next day.
They probably didn't even suspend her license!

I wonder if the same punishment would have been given had the victims been the judges daughter and her husband.

No choice in the matter, unfortunately. SCOTUS decision...done.

 

This is a prime example why everyone needs to join ABATE and have them push legislation to make texting and killing a biker a criminal offense. Abate is only $20 a year in my state and from what I understand, the more members they have the more leverage they have when taking issues up to their respective state capitols.
Im relatively new to ABATE so Im sure others can chime in with more accurate information. I know here in Florida they are pushing to make it a crime to text and drive if a biker is injured or killed and we have the option of wearing a helmet or not thanks to the efforts of abate. We also get 4k of dod insurance free.
Im sure there are many other benefits and issues they are working on to further bikers rights.
