Motorcycle map apps

On my iPad, I use InRoute. It gives you way points to make your own route and most of the time, 3 different routes when you have a start/finish.

Google maps and do a web search on how to download maps for the area you plan to travel, and that way you'll not be reliant on a mobile internet data connection while out riding.

MapQuest lets you have multiple way-points. I just looked to see if you could re-arrainge the points (like if you decided to add one that was between two) and you can't with the android version(don't know about the apple one). I think that would be a cool bug-fix.

I was just thinking about that a couple weekends ago when me and my girlfriend were spending a night in Baltimore. I programmed the hotel address in to Google maps on my phone and left the house. I know how to get down there, I'm just not the most familiar with the downtown area and the driving directions, but the Google lady did a good job of getting me there with no detours or U-turns. From there, we searched for food locations and attractions to go see and walking directions. At that time I was thinking about how much of a pain in the *** it used to be to get around an unknown place when you couldn't just type a destination in to a handheld computer and get instant directions. I could type an address in California in to my phone while in WV and get instant driving directions where as back in the "good ol' days", I'd have to sit down and actually plot out a course.
Now with the OP's concern, I do make routes for rides with Goole Maps, but like in the good ol' days, I don't have a phone infront of my face when I'm on the bike. I have to do a bit of memorization but at that point it's good to have an atlas on demand if you get lost or need to find food, gas, or lodgings in an unfamiliar place. I rode into downtown DC for ramen one morning when playing hookey and after I got my initial route memorized, made it the whole way without stopping. Did that several other times for rides and whatnot. I'm glad my memory isn't done yet.
