I combine both-I have a path and don't like anyone in my way or waste time with speed limits or other sensibilities.
The places I ride have standard speed limits of 80mph, so I can squeeze along at 90-95mph all day.

Usually just cruse along at flow of traffic. WFO can get scary.

Back when the FLSTN ("cow glide") was new, H-D ran an ad showing the bike parked next to a field of cows with the caption "it tends to mosey". I guess that's why I ride this bike. Most of the time I ride like the old man I am. Unless it's raining and I want to get home. Then it's just, "stay out of my way!"

You know that feeling you get when you arrive where you are heading and wish it had been farther away?

I spent a lot of years riding truly fast bikes (and not to burst too many bubbles here, but there's really no such thing as a fast HD). Don't really need that anymore. Now I take it easy.

My FXR is not a fast bike. Its a fast enough bike. I can get out of the way of traffic if I need to, but mostly I'm just relaxing. Except in the curves. I still love hanging off in curves.

When I ride alone, it's always just cruising. With my group of regulars, 99% of the time we cruise. Every now & then we'll get on it for a mile or 2, just to clear out the cob webs.

Yet, you responded to it...

Ho-hum, just another pointless reply.

Didn't vote on this poll and never do to any others.

I used to ride with a guy in the Philippines who was always wide open. I would keep up with him, but then that is not really my style and I thought if I keep riding like this something bad is going to happen. We were riding with very little margin for error or unexpected circumstances. So I started slowing down and just letting him go. Eventually we quit riding together. About a year ago I heard he ran into a guard rail, crashed and then got ran over by a truck. I had a feeling that something like that might happen.

Cruising fer sure! I like a back-country dirt road with no traffic and LOTS of scenery where nobody is behind me wanted to go speed limit. It is nice to go whatever speed I feel like going and looking at the countryside. I did my years in the rat-race and retirement is for taking my time and enjoying the journey.
