Default booking for Sturgis 75th

I heard some folks were booking for the 75th already, so I checked. The Chip is all booked for RV. They have some boondocking sites yet. They have a waiting list for power & water sites. Glencoe is 97% booked for RV. Lamphere has no RV left. plenty of camping left, but.......this was as of yesterday 10/30. Dint check Bear Butte, Shade Tree or 'da others but expect it to be comparable as far as RV'ing is concerned

Booked at Glencoe a week before this year's Sturgis started because they were giving this year's pricing up until the rally began. (the woman told me they were raising prices significantly for the 75th) Haven't been there since '98 so I'm a lot older and some what smarter...I think?

One of our group tried booking where he usually stays and they were sold out in September. So, we're staying at Shade Valley.

A friend of mine is going to let me stay in a chicken coop that he converted to a bunkhouse. It's all I could find.

We camped last time, had a good time too. we have rooms booked for next year all along our ride route and motel at Hill City when we ride in. Riding out from Wa State, will come back thru YellowStone, should be a good one.

Most of my crew have never been to Sturgis. We are talking about options for a 2015 trip. Are reservations required or recommended for tent camping?

Always found a place to pitch a tent....my 25th trip this year....I like Lamphere, pay by the day. Screw glencoe, 1 day or 17, same price.

The 50th was a mad house and the 75th will be the same or worse. Everything will be booked solid w/in 200 miles and months in advance. Like the others have said, most of the popular places are booked now. If being a part of the 75th is something your heart is pining for then better get on it now. Otherwise I'd wait until 2016. It'll be busy but not nearly as. Or better yet hit the Hills in July or Sept. You will actually enjoy the rides and scenery. Then again I grew up in Sturgis so the Rally while entertaining, is pretty much played for me.

Show up with a tent, there'll be lots of places to stay. No need to prebook.
