gas mpg??
I had a 2012 street glide and had it set up like an Ultra with taller windshield and king tour pack and I got between 45-50 mpg then I traded it in for a 2014 ultra because I wanted the GPS and better radio and I'm only getting 25mpg highway loaded the same way to travel. Can anyone tell me why and how to get to the 45-50mpg like the street glide. Thanks

Is the 25 in town? As said above, that is WAY low for highway MPG, even rotten mileage if it were in town. I would have it looked at. That is what the warranty is for.

How many miles on the new bike? I've heard of pretty poor gas mileage during the break-in period. Plus, most gas stations are selling winter gas which also drops the mpg.

Just curious, how do you drive and shift? That could be a key factor. But I would think that would still net 30mpg regardless of any driving habits an conditions.
But it sounds like the bike is over fueling? Is it sluggish at highway speeds? How do the plugs look? Rich gassy smell at idle? Any speedo calibration issues or sprocket changes made?
And just to eliminate the hopefully obvious, how are you calculating mpg?

25 mpg seems pretty low IMHO, I've had a high of 52.91 once and a low of 31 mpg, but I average about 40 mpg. This is on a 2011 Limited with Stage One modification, I got better mileage with my 09 96ci Road King where I averaged about 42-44 mpg.

My 07 Ultra never went much above 25 Mpg. And I'm not a fast rider nor am I a heavy guy with just shy of 80kg.
Screens are like sails and need a lot of oomph to push trough the wind. The bike itself if heavier too. How many miles has it done? If less than, say, 7-10K you will find a little improvement due to the bike not having run in completely yet but, if you are looking at getting 45-50mpg out of an Ultra you better start looking at moving to a place where all roads are going downhill or you may have to wait a long time.
