Default eBay bike lift plans

I bought a simple DIY bike lift plan on eBay for $15. Little welding and cutting later here are my results.

The cyl was $80. I had to buy a full sheet of dia plate @ $200. Some scrap angle iron I had and sq tube was about $50. Under $350 for a stronger than store bought lift.

That's a great looking project. How did the plans work for you? Did you have to make any changes? Any changes you would make if you were to build another one?

Very nice and you own the patent...

Bet that thing's sturdy as heck and best part is self-satisfaction of craftsmanship. Well done!

I did make a few changes. I added welded on tie down eyes, added an extra 5" length to the top, replaced a sq tube with a pc of scrap angle, and one extra brace to tie the front base together. I would like to add a second safety stop on the other side then it will be bullet proof.

Should've added/modded a rear drop plate for easy tire removal. Looks great.
