Winterizing My Harley
Well, here they come, the threads about winterizing a Harley. You know, the
"should I change the oil? Should I put away my battery? Should I put anything in the gas tank? Should I put it up on a lift?". Anyway, I was thinking about all those Harleys that sit all summer and now will sit all winter, because they never get ridden. The Garage Queens. How many I wonder. These bikes will probably not be winterized in any way except maybe a cover thrown over them. When they barely get ridden maybe 1000 miles on weekends to the dealer events or over to mom"s for dinner on Sunday. I doubt anything is done. Wonder what the oil looks like when it finally gets changed. Wonder if any damage to the engine.
Who cares anyway?

Christ, why is it year in and year out we get the same nonsensical posts that can be easily answered with a Goggle search? F-ing noobs. All you have to do to your bike to winterize it is put some Stabil in your gas tank, run it for 5 minutes, then shut it off. Take your battery out and put it in a warm place on a trickle charger (i.e. Battery Tender).
That is all, nothing else fancy or complicated about it, regardless of what any pinhead says on here. I've been doing the same to my bike for 12 years and never had a problem.

I'm guessing you do since you made a thread abou it.
I don't winterize my bike because I'll ride it at least once a week in the winter.
