What is this on my wire harness?
Been traveling on biz a lot the past month, went to start the bike up before I left on a trip this week and the battery was dead, not completely but the bike won't turn over. The bike's a brand new 2014...bought it last month and just getting ready to turn 500 miles so I'm a bit surprised the battery is tapped.
Anyhow, took the seat off and the bike is on the Supersmart tender right now using the clamps that came with it...amber light is on so I know it's getting a charge.
When I looked at the wire harness, I saw a 3/4 in piece of plastic sticking out of it. At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, what is this?

The piece of plastic is a slide that slides into a connector of sorts to hold it to where it is supposed to go.

Most new bikes will have a charger/tender connection coming out of the frame above the transmission dipstick are. Did you check for this? A smart tender should be in your plans when you are gone for a while. Personally, when my bikes aren't being ridden they are connected to the tender.
