Ford and Harley Davidson question
#2
I don't know why but Ford has had a history of partnerships and affiliations that proved to be beneficial to both parties. Carroll Shelby is one I can think of offhand where everyone came out as a winner. Both Ford and Harley Davidson were counting on their cult like followers to cross over and increase sales for each company. I think both companies reaped the benefits. Think about it. For the guy that has everything, the bike and the truck. For wannabe biker guy, who can buy the truck but not the bike, he still gets to flaunt the Harley Davidson nameplate. HD gets a substantial brand recognition boost. The guys who specialize in demographics and spending trends for each company would submit this affiliation proposal as a win win.
OK, that's my guess, now tell me the real reason.

Marketing & Money.
Ford and Harley both understand that there are plenty of fools out there that'll pay way too much money for anything that says Harley-Davidson on it.

Hmmm.... that's a bit harsh. The "Harley" trucks are actually pretty sharp, with unique trim features and packages. I'd agree it's a "win win," and add a third "win" for the consumer. The trucks are NICE. I wanted a black Harley F250 badly, but had to settle for a "plain Jane" silver powerstroke F250 4x4.... just could not afford it at the time. But I would have bought it if I could have reasonably pulled it off. Just my. 02
