Default From walker to biker one man's journey

I am as new as it gets to the riding world. I don't have my license yet and have not been on a bike in 30 years. I am however the proud owner of a 2009 1200 Sportster with 2000km. My plan it to document my journey from walker all the way through to full fledged rider. I will try and put everything from the purchase of the bike right through the training course and bike upgrades. I will be adding as much video as I can including the first oil change, mods and first ride.
Hope to have some fun with this and with the help and input from fellow riders on here maybe help other new riders. I am really easy going so will have full disclosure of mistakes made along the way.
Wish me luck I am going to need it.

My advice - Keep the shiny side up and the rubber on the road.. Good luck, have fun!

Welcome, brother, enjoy your new ride. I hadn't had a bike since my girls were born. They turned 18 just a few years back and I decided it was time to get back on the right side of a vehicle (the outside). With a little luck, I'll be following that good advice, shiny side up all the way. Same to ya, can't wait to see the pics and video.

Good luck Sid1200! Do yourself a favor and find a big empty parking lot. Spend time on slow speed maneuvers and smooth quick acceleration and braking. It could save your life. A MSF course would not be a bad thing if it's been 30 years

Congratulations Sid. We all know how much you will enjoy yourself. I have friends who live in Hamilton. Small world.

Hamilton, Ontario, huh? Don't think you'll get much riding in for maybe 4 months
