Default Anybody rockin one of these helmets?

Just wondering if they're as low profile as they claim.

Hey Rusty, looks like someone is finally gettin tha right idea in a DOT approved half bucket. I currently have 2 half helmets but would consider one of these on looks alone. Need to check and see if anybody around here is carrying em. I would like to try one on in person. Thanks for tha link

If you're looking for protection, these helmets are a waste of time.
If you're looking to be cool, that's a matter of opinion.

Excerpt from first review says it all.

"...Styling is cool and looks just like the Voss novelty seen on SOA...."

Those helmets are not going to provide any real protection but I don't think people who buy them expect any protection. I've always figured that people buy them because they live in states, or travel through states, with helmet laws, and but for those laws wouldn't wear a helmet at all.

No , the OL and I love our Schuberth C3 Pro Modulars. Pricey, but we think our heads are worth it.

I'm using an Akoury (AK-88 Gloss) half helment and really like it. It's light, DOT rated and has the same quick connect strap like the one you posted about.

I got mine from http://www.blackbeardsgear.com/. I would avoid buying direct from Akoury.

Rusty, Thanks for the link and Scooter, I agree with you. Someone is finally getting the idea. May not be as safe as more conventional DOT helmets and certainly not as safe as a Full Face, But i'm a Skid Lid, Novelty helmet wearer and if I found a similar product that was safer, as this link suggests, then I'm in. I'll be heading to New Hope, PA where there is supposedly a dealer to try one on. If they don't happen to have one, I'll probably order one online and give it a shot.
As for the other posts......I think people that would otherwise ride without a helmet all together would probably NOT get something like this and would just go with an ordinary Skid Lid that can be picked up at any Bike event for $20. The person that picks this helmet up is someone looking for a little more protection while staying with a small style Helmet. Just my opinion.

Cheers to all and Ride Safe.

Why even wear a helmet if that is all you're going to wear?
