Default WO 575 installation problems

I had my HD mechanic do the job of switching the OE handlebars to the WO 575,this morning they called to let me know that they had a problem with reinstalling the fairing cap,the one piece bracket WO 538 interferes with the cap that doesn't go all the way in,also the two side grommets are too small for the Chubbys.Has anybody encountered these problems and if so how were they solved?Would the use of an OE one piece clamp help?My bike's an '06 Ultra. Thanks

Did the mechanic read and follow the instructions?

I say this not out of sarcasm but personal experience.

Contact Wild1. Their tech support is excellent and will help you with this as they truly stand behind their product.
I installed WO550 on my '05 RK and needed to purchase the one piece handlebar clamp as well from them.

If you want something done right do it yourself.

I recall having to trim the grommets for added clearance.

1)No instructions came with bars
2)Called WO Tech Supp and was told to tighten front of clamp first (didn't solve the problem) and that the grommets were too small for the bigger bars (that was obvious).
3)Can't do it myself, unfortunately I was born with two left hands with ten thumbs.
4)Dealership called and informed that they were filing slightly the lower lobes of the clamp that were interfering.
5)I'm looking for two bigger grommets now,I don't like the gap.I'll try Home Depot next month but if any of you guys know of a different source, please let me know.

Bingo. Most after market bars including the WO 575's have a larger diameter tube, you have to grind some plastic off where they exit fairing cap. Glue the grommets back in place and you will never see it

This morning I picked up the bike at the dealership and the tech had managed to fix the fairing cap gap but not the grommets (Duracell, tanks for the info).Went for a ride to test the new WO 575,they look awesome, and I think I made the right choice.I also made some U-turns and was pretty comfortable with the new bars and the bigger fairing mirrors which shake a little more than the OE split vision they replaced but should that bother me I'll put the old ones back.In the end the whole thing has been a little pricey but I'm happy with the result.
