55 yrs ago in 59 when I was 10. My Uncle let me sit on his Indian while it was Idling..
After that, every time some bikers passed us on the road I just drooled over them..
That is the reason I always have and still love the Leather and Fringe Look on a bike and its also why I have a Heritage sitting in the garage with more fringe on it than most in here like on a bike. They are Sooo Nostalgic IMO..

Back in the late 50's. When I was a kid the local Harley dealer also sold bicycle parts and I used to go there for my bicycle stuff and would just gawk at the Harley's on display in the shop.

When I was a little kid back in 1964 or 65. A buddy of my dad and uncle rode some kind of bobber. It was red, no front fender, bobbed rear fender, fat tires, and a big tractor seat. I don't know if it was a flathead, a knuckle, a pan, or even an Indian. Anyone who could tell me is long gone now. When he used to come over, I would just stare at that bike for the longest time. I loved it.
A guy in my area rides this knuckle. It's not red, but it's how I remember that bike:
