Default Hand starting a old harley

Ever seen anybody do that before ? I did years ago. This skinny friend of mine could do it with his 70's model kicker shovelhead dresser. First try. Will never forget it.

I used to do it all the time when I worked at the HD dealership from '71 til '79.... don't tell it often as most people now days tend not to believe you. I want even mention loading a full dressed FLH into the bed of a pick-up truck alone and with no ramp...... The dealership owner used to win $20 bets laying said dresser on it's side and raise it upright using one finger. Sounds like tall tales huh! all true.

Till I went 93" hi compression I could push my 88" shovel through by hand and start it , she was a tired 9-1 just had to have a good tune and know the bike. Seen 12 yr olds kick them.

It's more than possible. Used to do it at every Rally that had a Kick Start Contest. A well used old Panhead. Get it up and centered on the compression stroke and push down hard. Voila! Varoooooom! Puckata Puckata.

Wasn't insinuating it was not possible. I have a twin cylinder welder in my shop that is hand crank only magnito. 8.5-1 Like to see someone hand crank a 12-1 by hand.

My old '53 Pan was timed so well I could do that.
It was stock, 6 volt, with a very manageable compression.
74 cubes.
