Needs some help - my clutch doesn't engage
until the lever is almost all the way out - how do I adjust it so it engages sooner. Hope everyone had a nice holiday.

It's a simple adjustment. Your service manual shows the steps.
I adjust the clutch every time I change primary oil.
Or, you can youtube it.

Good video. I too use 3/4 of a turn and because of my aim/vpc I use an 18mm spark plug socket to tighten the jam nut with a combi wrench on the flats of the spark plug socket with a hex wrench down the hole of the socket. There are 11/16" spark plug socket out there but they are not as easy to find as an 18mm but the 11/16" fits better.

Good video. Dont think I want him working on my bike though after seeing him put that chrome derby cover upside down on that metal lift table.

You can adjust the free play in your cable a little. I have to do that because I have small hands, otherwise it makes maneuvering at parking lot speeds where I have to slip the clutch tough on me. Just be careful and make sure your clutch is completely disengaging when you pull the handle all the way in.

If you adjust the clutch to engage sooner, it's going to disengage less. If you run it the way you want to, you may have difficulty changing gears when riding, and difficulty finding Neutral when stopped. Use the recommended adjustment spec's for best results.
Welcome to the forum.

Nice thing about the hydraulic clutch, no adjusting.
