Default We all complain about drivers that text and drive .... right????

Well, I thought I've seen it all until the other day.

I was out and happened to notice a new 2015 Ultra Limited riding up beside me. I looked over to find the rider / operator texting away on his "smart" phone while riding down a six lane divided highway.

To make matters worse, his SO was comfortably riding behind him relaxing and enjoying the view.

I seen another cage going down the interstate and both the driver and passenger were texting while going 80 mph. Every where I look people are holding on to their "smart phones" like it's a life support system. Out to eat one night my wife and I noticed a family out having dinner together. Every one of them were glued to the "smart phone". They may as well been home in each of their bedrooms.

Yes ... "smart phones" are nice and can be very convenient to have when needed. But put the damn things down and enjoy life, that text or phone message that came in can wait. First thing people say is I need that "smart phone" for work. Really ... unless your boss is paying for it, I don't think so.

Smarten up people ... jheez

Stepping off my soap box now.

The cops could enforce it more if they wanted to. Think of how much revenue one cop on a police bike in just one shift simply riding up and down his designated stretch of any highway could generate.

Point taken CSMHOG. I was at a restaurant a couple weeks ago and couldn't help but notice the table next to me...a man and a woman...both were consistently on their phones - texting, social media, whatever the hell they were doing - without a word between them until their dinner showed up. Maybe they were texting each other, who knows? :-)

A rider on his/her smart phone while moving...sends a chill up my spine.

It's a sickness that has spread world wide! Here in this country it has become the biggest killer of bikers and nothing will change until police departments everywhere get really serious about writing tickets. That won't happen though, because they and their wives and kids do the same thing 24/7.

My own family and friends do the same thing and no amount of criticizing from me stops them! Everyone thinks they are wonderful drivers and nothing will happen to them!

I've seen it plenty of times....guys on their bikes texting...even holding it up to their ear talking.

Just because people ride bikes...doesn't make them perfect on the road.

It is everywhere and not about to end anytime soon. It is certainly out of control so much so the LEO's can't make a dent. Driving now is like being in a gauntlet.

I believe that the GPS in the phone should disable every function except maybe bluetooth while it's moving. Everybody in the vehicle can wait until it stops, just like we did before cel phones.

Thank God Chevrolet is making things better by making their cars available with wifi built in and more options in the dash so your not on the phone, lol
