I have a 2012 Dyna Wide Glide. I rode it for the first time in a month and as I was going down the road, it would sputter and backfire. A few times it died acting as if there was no fuel in the tank.

Would def appreciate any suggestions

 

check battery cables!!!

 

Like Dirty Harry said, check all electrical cables, don't forget the ground. Look at the fuses and relays and make sure connections are clean. Other possibilities would be clogged fuel filter, a pinhole in internal fuel line. Spark plugs are another basic component to check.
See if the bike threw any codes.

 

I had similar happen to me after filling up at a different gas station than normal. Every time I rolled off the throttle it would start sputtering and the RPMs would drop until it just stalled out. I was able to use about half the tank then never got gas from the location again and never had the problem again. So, possibly bad gas?

 

Check the vacuum line on the TB manifold. Sometimes after it gets get old it will split.
