Default Touring bags - review(s)

Started buying gear for a couple of planned trips. Bought a Viking Bag back seat bag. the bag itself is ok. It's the company and how they manage it. First all the straps/hooks on the site show metal hooks but they send you plastic hooks. Maybe not a big deal for most but under heavy use they suck. Plus the company said nothing about the change. called them and all they offered was $15 refund. Got them for full refund plus return shipping. 4 weeks later still waiting on refund! So heads up on them!
But my feet are happy in new pair of Chippewa Boots!

Thanks for sharing your experience.
I'm not sure about the particular of your case. The design of the sissy bar bags that we have ( Choosing plastic instead of metal ) is a cosmetic one. We haven't had too many complaints or failures on it. If you could send over your order number, I'll have our manager check on the status of your return.

Edit:// Looks like the reason we were unable to issue a refund to you is because you filed a claim with your credit card. We're working closely with them to resolve it, but it adds a few steps to the refund process.

Not sure what you call heavy use but I travelled thousands of miles with soft luggage on my Wide Glide and nothing ever broke.

Well, what kind of soft luggage?

Nobody is saying that "soft luggage" sucks. I think he's griping about a specific product. So, since you're offering a defense, what specific soft luggage are you defending? I mean, I've traveled thousands of miles on several bikes with "soft luggage", but that means nothing, really . . .

If a product provider documented a metal component in their product and then substituted plastic, that would cause some concern for me.

I have the same problem the OP mentioned with the plastic buckles. They come unbuckled under even moderate tension. I bought mine about a year ago but just chalked it up to I got what I paid for...
Also the rain cover started splitting at the seems the first time I used it.
