Default to splice or not

OK my beloved wife accidentally backed into my bike the other day,
and broke the right rear turn signal bracket, and that is all. My Indy had a
pull off and sold it to me for ten bucks, and told me I could pay him when
I get an extra ten spot, so no big deal on the parts. My question now is do
I have to cut the wire and splice it back together, or can I dissemble and
reassemble the housing that holds the bulb?

Pull the lens off - if your model has spade connectors, unplug the and change it out. If no connectors splice (do it right).

Use heat shrink splice, or use heat shrink tubing over the splice. If not stuff each end with silicone.

No need to splice, the wiring runs into the taillight housing. Unplug it from in there and disassemble the connector.

I think when I put on my signal relocation kit, I had to cut and join the wires, because you can't feed them through the mounting tubes. Maybe it depends on the bike?
