Default Hate my wheel: Cut it??

So, it's the wheel that came with my bike and it was NOT a deciding factor, but I knew from the start I hated it. I can't imagine anyone will want it, so I'm wondering what folks think about cutting the flames off. I'd probably then powdercoat it black or something, but is it even possible or safe for that matter?

Craigslist is free....Try here on the forum but it wont be cheap to ship....

I second Tim's suggestion ... cutting it would be messy and then there's balancing it ... Might take two packs of Dyna Beads :>)

Totally agree with Tim and Larry on this one. It will sell and you will have some cash to put toward what you want.

You will only mess it up if you start cutting on it.

I've been looking at your bike for a few minutes and the wheel is starting to grow on me. How about posting a picture of the whole bike?

As stated above, it will be a bitch to balance if you cut the flames off. Try to sell it.

Thanks everyone, the more I look the more I don't think I could make it look right anyway. I'd have to bevel at the cuts to make it match, and well, that seems stupid.

thanks, it's a work in progress. I'm 6'7" so yes, the bars are tall :-)

Nice looking bike. Given the back wheel, you do have some options.

That bike screams for spokes in front IMHO.
Maybe the original is still floating around somewhere.
