Default 1st time I'm glad it's going to rain

here in nor cal we are on the verge of getting our first rain since last year.
the reason I'm happy is when the last storms passed through the tail end was cold and the road in front of our house was salted and cindered. Even today as vehicles drive by clouds of dust of salt and ground cinders fly. The rain is welcome as once it moves out the roads should be safe to ride.
I'm a little **** about salt and we live in a spot that is shaded and subject to freezing, while a majority of roads here do not get the salt treatment.
Regardless, next sunny day I have some cobwebs that need blown off.
Anyone else feeling trapped?

I saw on the news you guys had been over a month with no rain. I can sympathize with you about the salt & cinders on your road. I recently went to southwest Virginia which had a lot of salt & tons of gravel on the rural roads. I thought to myself no way I would be riding my bike on those roads.

Trapped isn't the word for it...-15 this AM and 10" of white stuff doesn't make spring seem closer.

From what I've seen on the National and Local News and have read on the Net, you better go buy a canoe or rowboat cause you're about to get hammered with more rain than even old Noah himself saw.

2 years ago we were in the midst of a drought. Lots of wildfires in the mountains, everybody praying for rain. A couple months later we got a years worth of rain in 3 days, causing what they said was a thousand year flood... so be careful what you wish for!

Wind took out our internet (according to the isp) and while windy and with steady rain, I'm safe with sloped property with good drainage. The road has been well rinsed of bike eating contaminants. Going on 3" in 12 hrs.
Looks like 62* and sun by Tuesday, I'll be ready.
The rain and snow is welcome and needed to fill reservoirs so the water deprived in the south state can carry on this summer. We whom live wherethe water originates have generally not had the water problems of the metro areas. It is mind boggling how much water is needed to sustain life where there are lots of people and generally a lack of aquifer and reservoirs.
To you with cold and poor riding conditions for months I feel for you!

We'd need 40 days and 40 nights for our lakes to get back to normal again. 5+ years of a drought has caused them to be 20-25 feet below what they should be.

So be glad that you're getting some. I know I'm happy for you!
