I'm sorry that i dont know the answer to this, but if I have a set of pipes from a 96ci softail, would they fit or not fit a 88ci softail as well?

I put the last year of a Night train 96 complete new take off exhaust system on my 04 Deuce. Bolted right up and the Deuce has the old style inter connector crossover rather the the back hidden connector. Did of course have to get 2 SS oxygen sensors plugs off Ebay to plug the sensors since 04 is a closed loop system. Bike had way more bottom end power then the silly loud dual Python without a crossover. Also had some engine brake which is good in the city. Rear footrest was close but bike has skull footrest. I do not do two up, so I pulled skull slider and just left foot pin just in case I had to carry someone in a breakdown.

Stick around, there's waaaay dumber questions than this! To your point, the increase in size won't affect the fit of the pipes but not all softail pipes will readily fit all softail models.

When I upgraded mine from an 88 to a 96, the exhaust still fit so I am sure yours will too.
