Old parts help
I have a bud with 89 ultra that lost a saddlebag lid on the highway. Before he could get stopped and recover it from the lane a car ran it over. These are the old fiberglass ones.
He is having a hell of a time finding anywhere to buy a new lid or even a new right saddlebag. So far all he can find is a new pair which he doesn't want cause he is planning to paint the whole thing anyway.
Can anyone help me with suggestions on places or links to check for something like that?

ebay
craigslist
swap meets
You can find lots of them in various condition. Lids flying off on the highway is sorta common.

A few days ago I was driving back home on the highway and was passed by a guy doing nearly 100MPH on what looked to be a Road King and his left side saddle bag top was open and flapping around. I sped up and got along side of him and tried to signal to him and he gave me the finger and got off the next exit.
I wonder if it's the same guy. If it is, he deserves to have his saddle bag lid run over.

I'm getting a lot back on an eBay search for 1989 Ultra Saddle bag lid
Here's one:

If he's going to paint them, I suppose color isn't a concern.

hmm, yes I saw one there and passed that on to him. I was hoping maybe someone out there had another source. I would think wherever he is taking it for paint should be able to repair his. After all it is fiberglass which is pretty easy to work with for sanding, bondo, and paint.

Just get any replacement for now- people obsess with exact parts when they just need it covered now and work on the OEM replacement later.
