Default Question about throttle return

Have a question about throttle return, how fast should it return.

I was putting chrome housings and buttons on the bike tonight. (WINTER BOREDOM). Anyway I'm adjusting the cables and got the throttle cable so the butterfly opens all the way 180 degrees. My question is the varying return.

For instance, if I move my forks all the way to the left the butterfly comes back quickly. If I move them dead center the butterfly closes at a fair rate, doesn't snap back but isn't slow.

On the right is where im not sure. If I turn the forks all the way right the butterfly closes slowly. It closes, but not the same was when the forks are straight and definitely not the same as when they're to the left. Is this okay?

Sorry , No that is not ok
the throttle plate only opens 90,or less .

the throttle handle should snap back in every handlebar position.
Make sure the tension **** is off, readjust (re-route/replace cables) .

My mistake I meant 90 not 180.

Cables are brand new diamonbacks with around 50 miles on them.

Do you have a service manual? If so, read up on throttle cable adjustment. You are not doing it correctly...Not being a smart a@@ it is just easier if you have the manual.

^ This

The throttle should return immediately upon releasing it regardless of the handlebar position. The cables are not adjusted correctly.

I do, didn't have a whole lot of time to look into it tonight figured I'd ask on here to see if anyone had any ideas but I'll look into it tomorrow.

Basically, you loosen both cables. Then you adjust the throttle cable until the boss (the little tab. It will make sense if you look behind the intake while working the throttle) just touches the stop when at full throttle . Then, you adjust the return line until it snaps back freely.

OK , the least binds in a cable is in a straight line ..that's impossible,

So route your cables to have the least amount of bends .
large radius bends. (no sharp bends)

then make sure you have a little slack in both.(With throttle plate touching the idle stop
adjust the return cable to have just a little "free play" in the throttle grip.
test , happy ? if not do it again.
You will get it

Mine was snapping back until it got cold and the grease thickened up. But I've always twisted it back, rather than letting it do it itself. Just a habit. I'm sure it'll be okay once it warms up. If not, I'll check it out.
