need security
Howdy. ..I have an 04 flhrci with no security system. And was wondering if I can add a fob system or some sort of security system other than handlebar lock which I already have. ANY INFO IS APPRECIATED!

Never found a gizmo that beats the old school heavy padlock & chain ( or cable ) most people today are just too lazy to use one.

I've got 2 cables. When my wife and I are traveling we will chain our bikes together and to something. When her brother went with us, it was all 3 together.

I'll never forget living in Toronto in the 1970s and hearing at the local HD shop that bikes that were chained to lamp posts were being stolen. The thieves would unbolt the lamp post, cut the wires, and throw the bike in the back of the truck and be gone in minutes, chain and all!
I had a Radio Shack wireless alarm on my FLH back in the 1980s and it saved my bike at least once. The pager went off in the middle of the night but the thieves must have seen the lights come on and beat it before I got there.
I now have a Gorilla 9000 on my FXD. If somebody fxxks with it, it makes lots of noise and I get an audible page. Thieves don't like attracting attention. Between the Gorilla alarm, steering lock, and the sidecar I have on it thieves will look for somethings easier to steal (I hope!)

The Ride Scorpio system pages your remote AND you also get a text message in case you're not in range of the bike. It uses a sim card so it always has a cellular connection. Plus, if the bike is stolen, you can track it on the app in real time. A chain is fine and dandy but tell me what thief doesn't have bolt cutters? I lost a 69 Chevelle that was found stripped to the shell so I am a little over cautios maybe?? If my bike disappears, I'd like to know where I can go pay the guys a visit before it gets cut up.

I looked at Scorpio but up here cell coverage is spotty at best so I want to make as much noise and fuss as possible before the bike goes anywhere! If I am away from home, I am not going to be far from my bike and at home it is protected by a wired alarm and a 12 Ga.
