It's amazing Stealey was able to keep the scam going for so long.

It is not a scam per se, just a very old and well negotiated contract by Deeley with the MoCo. This exclusive contract allowed Deeley to control and manipulate the Canadian market. That contract is now up and won't be renewed as it no longer serves the MoCo's interests. I suspect we won't be seeing many more HD motorcycle dealers, but rather more HD clothing stores.

Wow! That is GOOD news! That damn greedy middleman has kept the Canadian market in a stranglehold of inflated prices and a death grip over parts and warranty issues for far to long. I hope that this means a freer market place with prices a little more in line (with concideration of the dollar value of course) with or friends south of the border.

thinking this may be really good news for the new buyers,, while not so much for current owners of 1-2-3 yrs old bikes..

if the new bikes goes down in price,, so will the used ones and trade in value.

Still over all I hope its a good thing and that could mean better/lower prices on parts and other merchandise.

Good luck with that Sid. I am thinking that it might be like opening a Timmies.

Agree, we have gotten use to and pay the current prices, and now with the dollar value drop I doubt we will see any saving, we just wont see the deeley sticker on our part boxes. we shall remain hopeful

Our dollar won't be down for too long ( hopefully )....I'm guessing the current dealers will be happy to deal directly with the MoCo now and we won't be seeing the Deeley tax on HD's.

As is usually the case with complex financial and contractual relationships, I assume some coming changes will be a surprise, and there will be bad and good things on both sides. On the whole, though, it should be good news for Canadian Harley owners.

Good news I would think. Deeley was fixing the price of all things Harley. I bought my bike in 2012 for 24000, in BC. same price as here in NS. IN US I checked price in different places, the idea of flying down and driving it home, bike plus trip. Harley US. would not sell me a bike if I live in Canada. Deeley rule with Harley. Had to get it in BC. to get trip with bike. That's price fixing in my mind, as I found same Heritage softail in Florida for 800 bucks cheaper( the dollar was all most at par than) would of paid for half of my trip. Just hope Harley and Cat don,t make such a deal, Harley parts cost too much as it is without a middle man like Cat, Can,t see them being better to deal with.
