Default Removing primary chain

Need some help. Can you remove the primary chain from the compensator sprocket without removing the clutch or even removing the chain from the clutch? I'm wanting to change to the SE comp but don't want to remove the clutch. I've heard different answers so I'm not sure. thanks for any help.
Its a 2007 Softail Custom....

Chain, clutch and compensator are removed and installed as a complete system. All 3 must come off.

I removed the comp sprocket on my '15 Limited Low to put a Baker tensioner in, no need to remove the clutch.

I also replaced the compensator without removing the clutch.
I have an 04 88cu dyna lowrider.

Dont know if your primary has the same configuration as mine.
Good luck.

There are videos all over youtube showing this job being done without pulling the clutch basket off.

I am sorry. Maybe they are different than my touring bike.

thanks guys. I thought you could pull it without removing the clutch. Just wanted to make sure. I searched youtube but only found a couple installation videos.

When you remove the tensioner there is enough slack on the chain to take it off the compensator sprocket. I've done it on Softails and touring bikes same procedure.

............ go to the Primary/Driveline/Clutch section. The clutch and and comp need to be removed and depending on your expertise, the inner primary as well. Be mindful of the reverse threading on the clutch nut - buy a manual and ensure that you have the correct tools.
