Default Le Pera Seats

I got a quote from Le Pera Bare seat and they quoted it with vinyl. I guess I always assumed it was leather.

For you Bare bone owners, did yours come in vinyl or leather?

Vinyl, the leather option is extra that you have to order seperate. I love my seat just the way it is!

Thanks for the reply. Looking at the pics of the seat design I'm interested in, I always thought they were leather. I guess it doesn't really matter, just so it looks nice.

Comfort means more to me. Looking for one w/a backrest.

Vinyl holds up much better. I have a La Pera bare bones with GEL. More comfortable than my mustang bucket seat.

Le Pera Bare Bones: great looking seat, but a real challenge going longer distances. SJ Ron

I heard that the gel gets really hot when the sun beats down in it. Do you find that with your gel seat? Can you go long distance without needing back surgery?

I wouldn't think leather would hold up after months in the rain at night and then hot sun in the day. It would dry rot in a matter of weeks. Good I suppose for a show bike that's not ridden much. My Mustang is vinyl and looks great.

Well, vinyl must be good then, I thought most seats were leather. Admittedly, I've never bought an aftermarket seat nor paid to much attention to OEM.

Can't attest to the hot gel in the seat with my Bare Bones-when mines out in the sun,I'm on it-but it is vinyl....and comfy.
