Default Dealers near Palo Alto?

Hi all-

I will be heading to Palo Alto, CA for work next week. I will probably have time to visit a dealer, but (to my surprise) there aren't any very close (probably an hour for either one, given the traffic when I would go).

The two choices are:
  • Harley-Davidson San Jose
  • Dudley Perkins Company Harley-Davidson (NOT the one at fisherman's wharf)

Does anyone have any opinions on either of these? Not looking for anything in particular, except maybe chips...

Hmmm... let's see...

Would either one of those have a t-shirt saying world's oldest Harley-Davidson dealer?

See? I didn't know that...

(though it looks like multiple dealers claim this...)

Yeah, it's like the which oil is better debate.

Perkins has a signed letter from the MOCO up on the wall stating they are the worlds oldest continuing HD dealer. I think the key word is continuing... another may have opened earlier but shut down for a time then reopened.

Expect 37 pages after this one. lol

At any rate, that is a reason to choose them- I might be able to swing by on the way from the airport!

Use your GPS to find DP, they are hidden away in a warehouse area.

Dudley Perkins is my dealer and I highly recommend this dealership. Traffic wise it's closer to PA than SJ Harley. Unless you're in commute traffic it's a lot less than an hour to get there.

Dudleys at the a Wharf is a tourist T shirt deal only.

Dudley's may be closer as the crow flies, but depending on the hour of the day, getting there could take you 2X as long as getting to San Jose. Of course traffic going southbound during commute hours is almost as bad. With the economy on the rise traffic conditioons are quickly approaching the LA grind all around the Bay Area.
