Default Dim or Bright

Had an interesting mishap at a 4-way stop this morning. Noticed an OWD making hand gestures and he proceeded to roll his window down, figured he wanted directions or something. He then begins to lecture me on dimming my damn lights they are to bright. I promptly told the ill azz to not to worry about my lights and to GFY. He became irate and I eased off laughing. What say guys, broad daylight, ride DIM or Bright ???

I've got a Daymaker on my bike, keep it on dim. In the dark I have had people, reach out and cover their rear view mirror at traffic lights.

Dim during the day and with oncoming traffic. Around here you can get a ticket for running your brights in traffic.

After a VERY close call in which I barely avoided a collusion with a car that turned in front of me because "they didn't even see me", I ride with my lights on HI and I am getting ready to order the new JW Speaker 8700 evo 2.

My safety is waaaaaay more important than their temp discomfort....F EM!

Maybe rather than being an *** about it and perpetuating ignorant biker stereotypes, you could have just explained to him why you/we keep our high beams on during the day.

First of all how in the hell did he know my lights were on bright, he didn't, he just assumed??? Second, if he hadn't cussed me I might have had a little more respect towards him, so he can GFH. Third, he should not look directly into bright lights. Fourth, one day he will flag the wrong person down and you know what can happen. Fifth, OWD = Old White Dude.

I am not going to explain myself to anyone at a busy 4-way stop, ever.
