Default Muffler packing source

I recently pulled the baffles from my Rush slipons and the packing material was all but gone. A quick call to Rush and they told me that new packing would run me $20 plus shipping. I checked around and most other sources were in the $20 range plus shipping as well but you could get two repacks out of them. I found a place that carries the long strand muffler packing in 60" x 15" which will give me at least four repacks for $10 The shipping was $6 which is not bad. The site is Bristol Core dot com. They specialize in muffler packing materials for motorsports. I repacked the baffles and they sound good. I thought to throw this out there in case someone is contemplating a repack.

I pick up a few pieces of scrap insulation around a construction site.
tear off the paper backing , and you have a lifetime supply.
Cost is zero.

I've done mine twice in 51k but haven't had to repack my Rush muffs for 2-3 yrs.
Had mine since 07. Actually my set was the first Rush pipes that the dealer put on.

the last time they sent me 4 pieces of matting as they now say to Double wrap them with the seams 180* (opposite sides)on the baffles.

Also I just use plain ole 1 inch wide paper masking tape to hold the material on the baffle. 1 wrap on the ends and 1 in the middle.
