Default I changed my security PIN #

Just getting around to changing the security PIN # code on my 2012 Heritage. I figured I better do it before I lose my FOB on a ride, or brake it, or what ever maybe be the case. I didn't know what it was as i bought it from a dealer lightly used. It wasn't the standard default 1-2-3-4-5

Just a reminder for you who haven't changed yours. Might be a good idea versus the HD default code.

First thing I did when I got my King, also put the direction on how to enter the code on my Iphone...I have a short memory

Surprising how many riders don't know their code or how to enter it.

Good idea on the directions on how to enter it. I'll do the same on my phone. Thanks.

No such thing as a standard default code.

The dealer sets this as part of the initial bike setup, and each dealer may use something different.
And most dealers use the same code for every bike they set up.
So, it is a very good idea for the owner to change it to something unique.

And once a month or so practice starting the bike using the code, just so you remember the left-rightrightright-left-rightright stuff.

Took several tries but it finally let me do it. The card is on the bike so no need to practice. Five years on the Heritage and never needed it but just in case.

I always have trouble getting mine in. The ignition being on the neck I have to use breakneck speed to get to the sig buttons. Lol. Know the process though so I'm good.

I noticed a little something on mine yesterday . I had the battery disconnected for a bit this winter, the clock had reverted to displaying 12:00. I thought the security code would be gone, it was not, just had to reset the clock. It must store the code , once set, in the ECM.
